Ranbaxy and Astellas/Boehringer Ingelheim Enter Into an Agreement to ...
GURGAON, India and PRINCETON, N.J., Nov. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Ranbaxy Laboratories Limited (Ranbaxy) announced today that the Company has reached an agreement with Astellas/Boehringer Ingelheim to stipulate a remand of the pending Federal Circuit appeal and subsequent vacatur of the District Court decision in regards to Flomax(R) (Tamsulosin capsules). The case between Ranbaxy and Astellas/Boehringer Ingelheim has been dismissed without prejudice. The lawsuit in the U.S. was related to Astellas' U.S. Patent No. 4,703,063 ('063 patent), covering Tamsulosin and its use in the treatment for functional symptoms of BPH (benign prostatic hyperplasia). Under the agreement, Ranbaxy will enter the U.S. market on March 2, 2010, eight weeks prior to expiration of the pediatric exclusivity, which is likely to be granted to the innovator company.
Telecommunication towers to dominate board hearings
The Loudoun County Board of Supervisors will hear public comment Jan. 8 on six applications to install cell phone and wireless communications towers in western Loudoun. Five of the applications were submitted by Arlington's Community Wireless Structures. If approved, two of its towers -- one in Taylorstown and the other in Round Hill --would reach 150 feet. The installation of cell phone and wireless communications towers in western Loudoun have often come with much public outcry. Also on Tuesday, public hearings will take place on a future health-care facility in Dulles South, a sheriff's substation in Sterling and a zoning change to allow farmers markets in more parts of the county. The hearings will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the board room of the Loudoun County Government, 1 Harrison St.
Health calendar: Seminars about memory loss at Charlton Methodist
"Making Sense of Memory Loss," a three-part free seminar series focusing on education about forms of dementia and training for family members and caregivers, begins Wednesday at Methodist Charlton Medical Center, 3500 W.
